Jankin Tal'oor was born to a Kuat family as Jankin Ress 47 years prior to the Clone Wars. He travelled with his parents for several years on business trips to other worlds until the starliner they had been aboard on their last trip was attacked by pirates. His parents died even after giving up their belongings. Jankin was taken with a small group of survivers to a warehouse to be held for ransom. it just so happened that Kor and Jem Tal'oor were after a bounty on the head of the pirate leader. During the fight, Jankin grabbed a blaster and shot a pirate that was about to kill Jem. The Mandalorian couple took Jankin with them to collect the bounty on the pirate. With nobody left to raise him, he was adopted by Clan Tal'oor. While growing up on Concord Dawn, Jankin realized that he was different then other Mando'ade boys. He wasn't interested in woman for some reason, but wrote it off for years until the start of the Clone Wars. He was hired by Jango Fett to join the Cuy'val Dar, and eventually fell for a fellow male training sergeant, named Dapp Shanka. The two took on the clone commandos they trained as their adoptive sons. After Order 66, Jankin and Dapp fled to Concord Dawn to start anew.
