Biography
Born in the slums of Lower Coruscant, Grant spent most of his early life surviving. Fighting in the street, scavenging scraps, selling illegal goods. When he was around 16 he became an information of the Black Sun crime syndicate, selling info for credits. It went well for a few years, he even got trained by Black Sun mercenaries, well also getting protection and connections. It all ended soon, however, as the Black Suns did not pay for info regarding a Republic shipment. Having had thought before time that they might do that, he withheld that the shipment was under heavy guard, causing them to lose multiple units... Which did not go over well. During his escape, a group of wanted mercenaries lead by bounty hunter Bossk attacked. Bossk, using his grenade launcher, blew up Grant's starship while he was taking off.
Before he was taken down, he sent a tip to a certain bounty hunter that his targets where at Helmsly's position, and subsequently used a personal shield to block most of the blast. Crawling out, he survived on his own for 3 hours, until Jango Fett arrived... And together they elimated the mercs. Though, when confronting Bossk, Fett was put out of commission by a cheap shot. Taking control, Grant went head to head with the lizard, without any help. Not willing to show fear, he held up and eventually won the melee, Bossk having set off a grenade that separated the two, as he escaped to the Hound's Tooth. Treating Fett's wound, the two finished their dealings, before Helmsly contacted the Republic, revealing 37 of the Black Suns major operations... Severely crippling the integrity of the Black Suns leading up to the Clone Wars.
Completely impressed with both how Grant handled himself, and how he collected said intel, they contracted him, willingly, into the Galactic Republic Intelligence . Undergoing years of intense, daunting, and harsh training, Grant passed with flying colors... By the time of the Invasion of Naboo, he was a full fledged agent, but didn't see any combat until Geonosis... Whereas he probably saved the Republic. Sent in to take over a Planetary Defense Cannon that could rip capital ships asunder, he successfully disabled it, while also taking out Lungkei and his command center. This effectively left the droid armies, and Lungkei's direct superior, Pogo the Lesser, in the dark on the coming attack. After this mission, Grant became one of the top operatives in all of G.R.I., seeing countless fighting all over the Clone Wars, the Greatest Marksman in the Republic.
During Operation Knightfall, Grant was directly responsible for the fake Jedi distress call, and disabling all security measures within the Temple once the attacked began. He excelled at doing both of these, even after conflicts with multiple Jedi. After the operation's end, he was assigned to oversee the protection of the distress call and the forces stationed to kill Jedi. Ordering the clones to dress up as Jedi themselves, he went off to investigate a missing squad that had not reported in. This is where he had his second longest fight, against a powerful force user. The red skin alien was highly advanced, and after a minute, he used the force to conjure a black spear that pierced through Grant, pinning him to a wall. Not willing to give up, he used a tactic his hardest opponent taught him. Using a thermal detonator, he blew the two of them apart, flipping up to kick the Jedi off the side of the Temple, assuming killed by the fall.
Shortly after this moment, the Jedi team of Kenobi and Yoda had successfully disabled the distress call while he was busy, losing half of his detachment of the 501st. The Empire now formed, he was swore in to the Imperial Intelligence, and soon proved his worth on multiple missions as both a "technical officer" and a "communications officer", ranking into the Elite 5 of I.I., and earning the title of Marksman of the Empire... Only after completing the marksman challenge with a score of 1000%(Killed all dummy targets in one shot). One of the best operatives in the Empire, he oversaw many operations against this new Resistance organization, once almost capturing their general, Raylon LaFleure. The Black Sun, now having fully recovered, tried seeking out vengeance, only to have their second-in-command's men slaughter, family murdered, estate burned, and finally being blown up in his own ship.... Clearly the fine works of Operative King, Grant Helmsly.
