He didn't have a settled life growing up, abandoned by his parents, raised among abusive smugglers, and lived his life in over a thousand battles in massive clan wars from which he was on many different sides. He's been tortured, imprisoned, tested on, shot, stabbed, beaten, watched those he cared for die before him, and even betrayed. But still, he remains strong willed to get the mission done, and with give a mutual trust to those he is working with, without being too condescending. All he wants is to protect his family, and he's failed that all his life. All he has left is his son that he has never thought to have stopped looking for.
Strengths:
He's extremely tough and resilient, with an attitude to back it up. Sure, sometimes he wallows in self pity and days past, but when everything gets serious, so does he. He is built like a tank, and has... Well, been shot by a tank, and blew himself up destroying a tank, and got back up. Due to his size, he can easily intimidate lesser groups or people, and is a master at getting information.
He's also been tortured and imprisoned more times than most people ever will, which leads to his ability to brush off pain and be nearly unbreakable. He'll die with a secret. He was too, tested on many times in his life... Which gave him immunity to certain things, such an example... Death sticks, he can smoke 12 a day and only get 0.1 the effects of one death stick... But also is more resistant to the hallucinations, making them just simply a stress relief.
Weaknesses:
He's aged quite a bit, which puts a hampering on his speed, strength, and stamina. He can't even use his anti-armour shield and lance anymore because of this, well at least not for extended periods. His size makes him a big target, so in real battles he needs extremely heavy armour for protection, comparable to his laid back gear he sticks to nowadays.
And, such has the experiments on him gave him immunity to some things, it made him compromised by others... In example, most fruit can kill him if ingested. Another example would be that, his body can't take as much pressure as others can, such as when piloting or when diving.

Born on Corellia in 58 BBY, his life my mostly on a farm next to his family friend's home. One day in 51 BBY a group of Rodian Raiders attacked the little farm home, and his family abandoned him in the burning building- Alone. Taking his dad's slugthrower off the wall, he hid in the barn until he finally had to defend himself, and that's when a scout found young Solo. He first a shoot and killed the older Rodian, before digging in farther to the barn, crying. That's when their family friend showed up, an old Wookie named Sarsawyec. Pushing back the Rodians, they escaped and tried to find his parents, who disappeared. Unable to, they left the planet to get away from whomever hired the aliens, and joined with a crew of smugglers with the old Wookie.
For 4 years he trained among them, often mistreated, and only protected old wookie for the whole ordeal. Until the group leaders finally went too far, and a brawl ensued from which Sarsawyec was killed. Enraged, Solo killed the captains Kal and Dova, as well as two loyalists, taking control of the freighter, and claiming the name Jack Dresden. He named the modified YT-1300 Sarsaw after his dead mentor, and was now trained by the last crew member, a Mandalorian who called himself Greta. For a few years they spent time among one another, Dresden join many clans and groups, plus leading a few with 200 plus members for years. In 31 BBY he finally settled down on Corellia again, met a woman named Carla, and got married.
He finally took his old name back, now known as Jack Solo... The Old Guy was his nickname among the sector he lived in. When 29 BBY hit, he had his first born son, and overcome with joy, finally retired from the hard life, locking his ship up and telling his boy Han that one day, that ship will be his... Until Greta betrayed him and ran off with it, selling it to the Republic later that month, leaving port under the name Stellar Envoy. After countless years of war, he could now rest in peace with his family, his past behind him for good. But 6 years later, Han's sixth birthday, Jack and Carla let Han go inside a store alone while they had a talk outside... Right before they were jumped by pirates and taken away by force, leaving their son alone... As if he were abandoned.
It turns out whomever hired those Rodians that took away his family when he was young were back, and had imprisoned them for months. It was apparently a Hutt who was looking for the "Solo Treasure" his ancestor had stowed away in secret during the Sith Cold War, and only a handful of people knew it's existence. That's when he was reunited with his parents, after all this time were imprisoned as well. The Hutt, Harkur, then ordered his parents to death in front of him, and after the restraints faltered, lead to a long gun fight and escape for freedom. During the escape his mother and father were shot, and he was forced to leave them behind, before pushing to the last gate. This was when Greta showed himself again, sniping Carla right in the chest, causing her to be killed instantly, before boosting himself away to meet with Harkur.
Unable to control himself, Jack went and cleared the entire facility out, before reaching Greta, having just missed Harkur. After a long, last conversation amongst each other, Jack drew his blaster and fired first, wounding Greta and causing his jumpjet to explode. When Greta asked why Jack wouldn't give him a fair fight, he simply replied, "I wrote this in a passage of my son's book... I happen to like shooting first, Greta... As opposed to shooting second..." Leaving Greta to rot in the abandoned Hutt prison, he then continued to try and find his son, Han. After months of searching he finally found out that a pirate Garris Shrike got a hold of him, hand spent the next almost two decades trying to find him, going under countless aliases, only putting the search on hold once, when the Separatists imprisoned him for the entirety of the Clone Wars. Until his last friend left Quip Fargil, busting him out right before Operation Knightfall, and gave him an old ship he didn't use anymore, Saker. From which onward Jack used it to help in his hunt for the pirate that took his son, and coined the feared name of Jack Dresden once more.
