So basically he's angry that The Jedi werent able to recognize his connection to the force as an infant. He feels that perhaps somehow they knew all along and just passed him up for someone else, his motivation is staying ahead of Republic authorities and also trying to strike back at the Jedi order. As of now he's unaware that the Separatists are led by a Sith lord, however if he learns of the existence of other Sith he might might be inclined to join up with them. He's been able to train himself well enough for the last 5 years and has made some incredible progress but without a master he's worried he might plateu and not get any stronger.
