Korinto is the Great Great Grandson of the famous and infamous Grand Admiral Rimaldo Lerak. His mother was a well known Quarian Scientist, and his Father was a decorated war hero as many In his family were.He is a Quarian, a race who was driven out of their homeworld of Rannoch a few centuries ago, as a Quarian his Immune system is very poor, therefor he wears an environmental suit, otherwise he could become ill from something as small as the common cold, which could kill him if he is not carefull, even a tear in his suit could be lethal if he does not control it fast.
The name Lerak changes after every 2 or 3 generations as was always the case in this blood line. For Rimaldo's Great Grandfather had a different variation of the name than he. But this is not to be confused, as no matter the variant they are all very much related.
Korinto's Father inherited the Scadious Gene, passed down by over 40 generations of Lhe'rack(the original Lerak's) So he possesed the very recognizable abbility of manipulating shadows. However unlike a lot of past members of the family he was not trained in the force. Instead he concentrated on technology and weaponry. He was no soldier as you would also expect but that doesnt mean he doesnt know how to fight. He was well trained in the Stealth arts, a fantastic Marksman, and majestic fighter when using his omni blade. He had no need for a lightsaber or the force, he was trained as well as an assassin would be trained, but he was no bounty hunter or assassin.
Instead he followed in his mother's footsteps and became a well known Scientist. After years and years of study he became a doctor of chemistry and physics.
He works on many top secret projects which of course being so cannot be spoken of therefore he cannot take credit for anything that could possibly boost his reputation since it is secret.
