Deep in the reaches of Tatooine, in the midst of the dry sands, lies a beautiful oasis. It has been long sought after by the rest of the world, but has been kept safe by Muad'Ib and his unusual methods. Currently, he has a caretaker on-site most of the time. Her name, Melly.
But, at first, she didn't even want the job. After all, being married for about three years does make a girl want to stay with her husband, so the ex-bounty hunter made a deal with them. Byter and Scorch also live on property, but have no idea how they got there. Now, Muad'Ib is about to check up on them at the one year mark of running the place and is about to find a really unexpected surprise waiting for him.....
----
Byter was frantic. Where was she? She always did this granted, but still. IN her condition, he would've expected her to slow down and take it easy. But it just made her even more of a wandered than usual. He scratched his full beard in nervous thought. What if she fell into the lagoon and drowned herself?
Wait, now what was he thinking? He was acting like an old maid and it didn't do him any good. She could handle herself, even if she was like that. He sighed, his left knee bouncing up and down in anticipation. The ex-smuggler got up and headed up into the Bantha Spit, their current home. WHo cared if it was just a ship? It was home for the time being while Muad'Ib worked on getting enough workers to blindfold themselves and come work on a house. He shrugged. He didn't' really care. He went to the large room he shared with Melly and sat on the bed. Next thing he knew, his eyelids started to drop. It had been a very long night and it was still only morning.
His exhausted body fell to the bed, falling into a deep stupor.
Little did he know that Melly was actually coming back, but she hadn't drowned, oh no. She had actually hitched a ride and went to go get some food. And that ride was heading back now.

Eventually she had made it back to the large oasis. It wouldn't have amen as long as it did had she not walked most of the way-but it was exercise and she didn't mind. Due to the secrecy of the area, it would have been impossible to ride back the whole way. Plus it was something else to keep her occupied. Melly always carried her lightsaber. Tatooine was probably the most boring planet, especially if your considered a farmer. It did have it's perks in some way, and as long as Byter was there she wouldn't be going insane anytime soon.
Speaking of Byter, where was he?
Aha, the ship. She made her way inside and set down the food she was carrying next to the ramp. Melly was quiet as she snuck into the room and peeked around the door.
ASLEEP? He was still asleep!? Melly growled in sudden irritation. What was he still doing in bed? Lazy! Someone wasn't getting breakfast. She crept in and loomed over him. Ick, that beard. She wished that he would shave it off. Who wants extra facial hair in the desert? She sat next to him on the bed indian style. Melly stroked his head, running her fingers through his hair.
As for her condition, she didn't think too much of it. Scratch that, she thought about it -all- the time. She'd only just started showing. There was still a long way to go. Scary stuff, but they had been through way worse. Byter was always on her case about settling down. Screw that!

Byter's eyes snapped open. The shuffling of the bed and the fingers running through his hair meant only one thing. His eyes moved to the side. "Hello sweetie."
He slowly sat up, the bones in his bak cricking as he did so. Did he fall asleep again? Yeesh, life was tiring here. He scooted over to where she was and looked at her with an eyebrow raised, the sarcastic worry in his voice evident. "Where did you go this time? Town? The Imperial Outpost? Jabba's Palace?"
He worried about her so much. He didn't know much about being a father. Just that women could be a little vulnerable during this time. But, they could also be very dangerous. He placed a hand on her leg and looked at her, a silent pleading expression at keeping it slow.
He didn't know much. But he knew that he loved her and he was going to love their child. That was really all he needed to know.

Maud'Dib streched a little, ordering Jabba around felt REALLY good.... Escpecially when The Bando Gora was in trouble and needed a little backing.... "Well...I'm here, might was well go see how there doing...Huh?" He said to himself. So, he walked over to his SpitFire, strapped himself in, and started off toward's a ship, one that, oh so long ago, marked a beggining of a beautifully yet...ODD friendship....

Melly glanced over at him as he woke up. What was causing him to be so tired? She assumed that it must have been stress...and she was certainly adding to it.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you.." She rubbed the back of her head nervously and smiled weakly at him. "But you wouldn't have let me go by myself. We would have had to blindfold you." She paused, suddenly looking aggravated. It irritated her to no end that she couldn't even tell her husband where he lived. The anger was short lived though, and she spoke up again. "I was only getting food...the fruit around here has been getting old, really fast. But I did hear something interesting...the local farmers were talking about recent kidnappings. I didn't hear the entire thing, but people have been taken...probably sold as slaves. They suspect the Tusken Raiders and are planning an ambush tomorrow morning. I think we should help, we can easily get speeders from Jabba. And it'll give you a change to do something else besides farm."
She caught his expression and let out a deep sigh. "You act like everything I do is deadly. Have a liitle faith!" Melly leaned against Byter and wrapped her arms around him. Hopefully it would give him a bit of comfort. "I know that you're freaking out on the inside." Mel glanced up at him and smirked. "Don't try to hide it. It's written all over your face."
After a few moments she pulled away and stood up from the bed. "There's something I want to ask you later..." Melly headed out of the room to get the food that she'd left outside...it was a long trip and she was starving.

Byter sighed. "That's cause most of the stuff you do is deadly."
He stroked his beard, thinking. Something to do besides farm? Sounds interesting. But would she be okay? His eye traveled over to her stomach. Oh boy. He sighs. "Sure, as long as it gives me a chance to wear my old rags."
He instantly got up and went out side, grabbing the bags before she had a chance too. Yoink.
He grinned and leaned at her. His mouth suddenly found hers as he pushed his lips against hers for a brief moment. He hung back and grinned. "I frakking love you, you know that?"
He needed her to be happy. She deserved it. Who cared if he worried about her. Their child would turn out all right anyways, it had the two best parents anyone could ask for. And the best uncle in the universe to spoil her. Her? Oh yeah, he got that feeling. It would definately be a girl.

It had been ages since the Twi’lek had meet up with Byter and Melly. He had kept in touch over the years even sending them money now and again, but he did have a life of his own. He could never settle in one place, the call of the hunt was too strong in his blood. Still, Melly had been the only one to survive his little game and she had gained a lot of his respect that day. It just so happened he had a job he had completed on the planet and so he had time to catch up with his old comrades. He wondered if Muad'Dib would be anywhere to be found today. He couldn’t for the life of him find out where the ex bounty hunter had set up shop. He was about to knock when the door opened to Melly and Byter. It would seem they left some food out and was coming to collect it. “Well hey there strangers.” A friendly smile spread across his face. It was good to see them again

The SpitFire landed a bit off of a gorge a few miles away from the ship, Maud'Dib then picked up a survival pack and locked up his SpitFire ship, and headed off towards his friend's ship. If he was lucky no one was home... If not, then it would be interesting to see how Byter would react... And Melly... Quite a few things changed since they last encountered each other... "Well...Better get started... The leader of Tatooine, and the Bando Gora can kill plenty of thing's but time is NOT one of them..." And with that, he started his walk. His mute Bando Gora guard folowed silently, his black outfit stood out like Maud'Dib's outfit, it was the same one he wore when they all met... His bodyguard's helmet, was a skull with horn's. His eye's shown a very VERY bright blue from under his skull helmet. "You know you can talk...Right?" Maud'Dib turned and looked over at him, the body guard simply nodded and they both continued walking.

Melly whined at him. "Awe, c'mon. It took me a long time to get those! Give 'em back!" She made grabby hands at the bags, completely focused on getting them back. She didn't walk for miles in a desert just for them to get stolen.
However, her attention was instantly redirected to Byter when his lips pressed against hers. Melly blinked, blushing deeply. The girl still wasn't quite used to all the attention she was receiving from him. It had doubled in the last few months. She smirked and looked up at him. It was a look that he alone could get from her.
"I got you and Scorch some stuff too...I know how much you guys like alcohol..." She grinned nervously and rubbed the back of her head. It had started to become a habit, especially if she was unsure about something. "I hope you'll enjoy it...since you won't let me have the bags I'll just go rest..."
Ah yes, the bed. It was practically calling her name. Poor girl could faint at any moment.
Just as she was about to turn away to return inside the ship, a familiar friend approached. "Charlie?"

A Viper probe droid soon came into view and started beeping at Chir’lales. Pulling out a datapad he smiled happily at it’s report. “Ah good no hostile in the immediate area. Yah did good little one, continue patrolling and only alert me if there is danger.” The droid beeped a few more times before flying off once more. “Heh I love that thing.” Chuckling softly he leaned against the outside wall and looked at the couple. “How has it been? It had been awhile. You know how it is places to be jobs to do. Always been meaning to check up on you but the hunt always is calling.”

When the ship was in sight, Maud'Dib was well beyond exauhsted... It was torture... But it was a friendly torture. "Well...Final time to talk dear friend..." Maud'Dib nodded to his body guard, the body guard nodded but still said nothing. "Alright, HEEEEY!!!!" Maud'Dib hollored to the ship, and started walking over to it, the sun was starting it's gradual climb into the sky and it was going to be a long...LONG... Day of explanation's...

Byter chuckled and laid a hand around his wife's waist. That would probably annoy her, but still. He needed her close to him. "Well, you haven't changed a bit. See youre still one for popping in unannounced."
He chuckled. "It has been a while. Its been rather peaceful, but you know us. It's starting to drive us crazy!"

"HEEEEEY!!! BYTER! MELLY! CHIR'LALES!!!" Maud'Dib continued yelling as he and his body guard walked on, the desert wind blew into his face, causing sand to re-open closed cut's. It was salty, as where most thing's in tatooine.

Melly grinned and waved at Charlie, then her head turned slightly as a faint voice shouted in the distance. It was calling out their names, so it was quite obvious who it was. "So many visitors today...how did you even get here?" She blinked and looked at the Bounty Hunter. She assumed Maud would have wiped his memory too...it didn't matter she supposed, Charlie wouldn't betray them.
"Maud will be here soon, we should go meet him at the end of the oasis!" She grabbed Byters hand and started down the ramp. Resting would probably have to wait for awhile.
