Melly blocked him out for a moment to think. Something she did often. "Can't go back to the ship.." She muttered to herself, knowing very well that the rest of the gang would be there. Perhaps she could buy...or take, preferably, one of her own. She had no shame in stealing anything.
She caught him at the end of his statement, only hearing the words 'beautiful one'. She assumed he was talking about himself. "I suppose." Melly replied. He wasn't horrible looking. But that was probably because she was used to him. When she'd first seen him he was indeed...a scary looking spider. "Everyone's beautiful in their own way, Jaggary."
She noticed and appreciated that he kept his distance. Mel wasn't 100% sure if she really wanted to be near him as of yet. The girl turned away from him and began to make her way away from the area. He could follow if he wanted to, she wasn't going anywhere specific. She just couldn't be around when someone spotted the dead body. People had seen her with him and would quickly connect the dots.
The sand shifted under her feet quietly. Sure enough she was able to weave her way through the darkness without a problem. Instincts had practically taken over at this point. Melly was nervous and it showed. Not of him, but of everything else.

Jaggary noticed that Melly had gone off a little ways, and just shrugged it off mentally. Nothing really getting upset about, and he was probably babbling anyway. He looked up at the sky and grumbled a little. It was getting late, and he had probably catch something for him and Biff to eat. He scratched the lizard underneath his chin and turned his head to face Melly once again. Everyone was beautful, agreed, but Jaggary was even more beautiful. The thought made him give a small shiver in happiness.
His back legs lifted him off the ground as he followed Melly through the sand. His feet rolled from the outside in, making a soft and equally distributed landing. It made him quiet. He slowly moved each leg, but took massive strides to keep pace with her.
"Leaving so soon?" He spoke with his voice just above a whisper. He had noticed that she seemed to be a little 'lighter' on her feet, as it were. Perhaps there were more where that one came from?

"Is there a reason for me to stay?" She questioned him, turning her head back slightly. "I don't want to spend the night near a bunch of drunken animals. Dunno about you, but that's not my thing." A smirk appeared on her face. "Don't you have some place to get back to? I doubt I'm THAT interesting for you to follow me around like a little dog."
Talking kept the silence from being awkward. The wind blew slightly, causing the sand to lift up, then back down. The desert was unforgiving to those that didn't work with it. The desert, however, was not her destination. A ship was. She wanted to get off this planet. Her job was done here, and it was time to find a new employer. "Tomorrow I'll be heading off. Not sure where, but it won't be anywhere on this dustball." Melly kicked the dirt lightly. "Probably lay low until I need to be employed again...which won't be too hard. I've got enough to hold me over for a few weeks. What about you?" She questioned.

Biff hissed from Jaggary's shoulder. The purring had stopped, replaced by the cutest growl one could ever hear. It gurgled the growl a little longer before hissing again and then falling quiet. The lizard had noticed Jaggary's sudden twist in displeasure and took to the offensive side.
Jaggary was displeased, and he was thankful Biff decided to voice his opinion for him. He stopped walking, letting the sand blow and shift around him. His eyes narrowed. A dog?! Melly had taken her chances before, yet tried to maintain politeness all the while. Until now. He didn't like the sudden change.
"Very well if you'll have it your way. I'll be heading back to my ship then leaving. I've finished my business yesterday morning and I'll be glad to get back to decent civilization and decent people." Jaggary said, the venom clear in his voice. He backed up a few paces, then turned around, not even bother waiting for a responce.
Biff kept his head in place, and as Jaggary turned around, he still managed to stay looking at Melly. He made a 'harrumph' kind of noise and hissed before facing the front and laying his head down.

Melly winced at the sudden change in mood. Oops, had she said something wrong? "Hey, wait a minute? What the hell is your problem?" The girl swirled around to face the large male. She hissed at the lizard, unphased by its sudden hostile nature. So much for being cute.
"Decent? What would YOU know about decent? You're a giant bug!" Oh, it was on now. If he thought being called a dog was insulting he had another thing coming. "At least dogs are cute! People LIKE dogs! How many 'decent' people would go out of their way to pet a bug? NOT VERY MANY!" She shouted at him, no longer keeping quiet. The silence of the desert was broken. "You'd probably eat the dog for lunch!"
She turned away highly irritated and started to stomp in the other direction. "Stupid spider, stupid lizard..." She muttered to herself. "Go back to your ship. Nobody wants you here anyways."
Well darn. And she thought she'd made a friend.

Jaggary turned around to face the insults face on. He stood there unmoving, absorbing what she was saying. A bug? A BUG?! That was just too funny! He surely wasn't a bug. He felt Biff tilt his head sideways as he looked at him. Hissing back made quite the interesting sight. It must have been a surprise for the little thing.
Jaggary took a few paces toward Melly as she started to stomp off and burst out laughing. He clutched his sides, praying they woldn't split.
"I'm an arachnid." He said while announciating each syllable. "The funniest part about it, is that fact I probably would eat the dog for lunch; and the hand that was petting it too!"
He shook his head while maintaining the laughter, red eyes narrowing in amusement. The reaction he was getting was priceless. She had offended him, he returned the favour, and what does she do? Feed him a joke. Classic.

"You're a JERK." She barked back at him. Her face was starting to turn red with anger. "No wonder nobody likes you. Your only friend is a lizard!" She motioned towards the creature that was resting on him. "I get it now. I can see why nobody likes you. It isn't just your looks."
She turned and continued to storm away from him, wishing that he would just go away. At least she had tried to keep herself from insulting him. One little slip up and everything went downhill. He must have not been used to being called a dog. After all, there were so many bug jokes out there that it must have been impossible to compare him to a dog. No doubt he had heard it all before, that's why he was able to keep his cool. It had to be.
"Go away Jaggary. There's no reason for you to be here anymore."

"Ahh, a jerk I may be, but a Bounty Hunter none the less. What else would you expect?"
To be honest, it was hard to stay rooted to one spot and keep from just leaving. That's what Jaggary normally would have done in a situation such as this. Most bounty hunters wouldn't even care about keeping polite conversations, more then half wouldn't dare let anyone insult them without three threats back. Jaggary enjoyed keeping his cool, but there certainly was a time and a place for everything. Besides, he didn't mind Biff's company, it was greater then most others could provide.
He was innerly hoping for her to relax and stop acting about, but it was to no avail. He watched her storm and frowned. Clearly she was upset, and Jaggary felt slightly guilty, but none the less what was done was done. He sighed softly.
"Farewell then, Melly."

Melly waved him off. If she never saw him again that was good enough for her. Overreacted? Perhaps. But they both deserved it in a way. She had not meant to chase him off, but that's what had happened. Next time she'd have to choose her words more carefully. It was too bad, they had a good thing going.
"Bye."
She stomped in the sand and came to a halt. Mel could hear the spiders motions in the grainy sand. Her brown cloak whipped behind her as the wind continued to blow the night air around. What now? Her head turned slightly to make sure that he was actually leaving, and not creeping around in the shadows as he had done before. Or worse. When he was gone she'd plan her next move. Something was tugging at her however. An uneasy feeling loomed overhead. Why had she suddenly feeling guilty? "Damn it..." Melly hissed to herself.

Jaggary didn't care about being stealthy anymore. He just hoisted himself off the ground and left. His legs didn't bother to do anything special or creepy looking, they just took him where he needed to go. His ship. Fair enough. Perhaps he'd even go home, where ever that was. He sighed. Home was somewhere he never knew, the pocket of a traveller had kidnapped him into some place unfamiliar. Unfamiliarity; that's what was home.
Now in a sour and unhappy mood, he stalked through the sand, Biff chirping at his shoulder. He kept in the middle of the street, leaving the option for Melly to follow him for a change. hE had a ship, she said she wanted to leave. He wouldn't offer a ride unless she'd come up with the need for a ship, he wouldn't just blurt it out there. Perhaps that was a lie, to keep him on his toes and not give away her real intensions. Jaggary sighed. 'Ahh... the life of a Bounty Hunter...'
Biff scurried around Jaggary's shoulders, going from one to the other, pacing. It came to a rest on the same side it had started, but facing the way Melly was. It whined softly and raised a paw as if to say 'Ta ta for now!'

Melly was busy having an inner battle with herself when suddenly a thought popped into her mind. "A ship!" She perked up, and turned fully around to observe the spider. He had mentioned something about a ship. Did he actually have one? Her body wilted slightly as she groaned in irritation. It would be a lot easier to bum it off of him instead of jacking one. After all that had just happened, she wasn't even sure if he would even consider looking at her anymore. It was worth a shot. "Ughh..."
A hand flew forward as she darted in his direction. "Jaggary wait!" She shouted at him, kicking up dirt behind her. When she managed to catch up to him she grabbed his arm, but quickly yanked it back in fear of the lizard. The little thing would probably take any chance to bite it off, she thought.
"Wait..." She panted. "Listen, you said you had a ship?" She questioned him, hunching over slightly to catch her breath. Running in sand was hard. "Look...I'm sorry that I called you a dog. I didn't mean it...I'm sorry for everything I said. But..." Melly reached inside her bag and pulled out a small sack of credits. "Look, I'll pay you...I know you like getting paid just as much as I do. Please, let me come with you.."
For once, she'd actually meant what she was saying. She wanted to leave this planet...badly. Hopefully convincing him wouldn't be too hard.

Jaggary was busy thinking, the world seeming to fade slightly as he continued. Something touched his arm. Snapping back to reality, he looked down to see Melly. He dropped to his feet, the back legs pivoting behind him and out of the way. He titled his head slightly, hearing Biff purr in his ear happily. Jaggary blinked a few times, trying to absorb all the information that was being spewed to him at once.
"Whoa, calm down. You're a little jittery." He eyes the credits and pondered. He didn't need much money at the moment, but it would still come in handy. Perhaps the company of another would be better aswell. It avoided him picking on Biff the whole time.
"It's no beauty, but no piece of junk. It'll provide plenty of space..." He stroked his chin, dragging out his responce. "Appology accepted. So long as you don't intend to stab me later, I suppose you can come along. I won't take much, I'm not in a demand for money at the moment...." Biff yapped his excitement, chattering loudly until Jaggary shot him a glare to shut it.

Was that a yes? It was totally a yes. She grinned in response and tossed the payment at him. Her whole mood had changed once again-this time to excitement. Bipolar much? "Deal!" She perked up. "I promise that I won't stab you later." Mel chuckled lightly at the statement. She could have continue on to say something else but decided to keep her mouth shut.
"As long as it runs, it's fine by me." She shrugged, having been on the junkiest ships before. This whole thing made her life so much easier at the moment. Her attention turned to the excited Biff. That was one strange little creature. Melly caught the look that Jaggery was giving him. "Awe...he's happy!" She shrugged at him, pondering whether or not the creature would allow her to touch him. Secretly she wanted the hold the lizard, but didn't trust it nor herself to turn on each other. It was only cute when it wasn't mad.
"So where are we headed then?" The girl questioned, her attention stuck on the cat like creature. "Anywhere is better than here." She had begun to sway back and forth impatiently.

Jaggary blinked twice, just making the catch of the credits. 'What a strange little person!' He thumbed through what he had given her and stashed it in his pocket. He blinked again, feeling the excitement and happinees radiate off her. With a glance at biff, Jaggary searched the little creature's body and facial expressions. "So he appears to be, I told you he understands."
Following Melly's gaze, the spider couldn't help but give a small chuckle. "If you keep with your current attitude you may have someone yawning in your ear. Although normally he sticks to my shoulder while on unfamiliar dirt, the ship however is free game."
Jaggary led the way, walking through the sand toward his ship just on the outskirts of town, between a few sand dune. Sure enough it was a bad place for sand dunes shifted constantly, still, it was good enough for him. After all, a little dirt don't hurt. "Not a clue at the moment, did you have any particular place in mind?"

"Anywhere but here." She replied.
The girl calmed down for a bit, glad that the tension had ceased. She stared at the ship with a nervous expression. "Err, I don't think that was the best place to put your ship. The sand could have shifted and crushed it!" Melly spoke as if he didn't already know this.
She took a few steps forward then paused. Better let him go first. She didn't want him to think she was up to anything. Yet. Instead she covered herself by saying: "He won't attack, right?" Referring to Biff. "Or bite?" If the ship was free game, that was like being and injured animal in a pond full of piranhas.
