Melly blinked. It was pure chance that they had even met, judging by his story. "Well, I don't even know honestly." She shrugged at him. "Everything that happened wasn't supposed to. I didn't even want to go to the bar. I wanted to leave the planet right away, but my partner insisted. I don't drink, never did. We got lost on the way there, which made him angry I guess." She wouldn't look at him as he spoke. Instead she simply stared at her lap.
"It's too bad, really. Had a good thing going." Melly looked up slightly. "Why would you even...care...that the drink was poisoned?"

Jaggary nodded slowly. It was pure luck that he had ever met Melly, and sure that was to count for something. He chuckled at the thought, finding their aquantance entertaining. The spider still had his doubts; did their partner ship really considered 'a good thing going' if it ended up in an attack. Then again, as usual, typical bounty hunters. The lot of them. What an unruley bunch Bount Hunters.
"I didn't." He shrugged. "I still don't. Mostly still curious. The person was a Mandolorian, as was my mentor years ago. I was hoping to see if she had known him, or maybe a little bit of back history about him." He put his hands behind his head and leaned back. "Oh well."
Biff, now finished his apple and very content, bounded across the floor and leapt onto Jaggary's lap. The lizard curled into a little ball and started dozing.

Melly raised a brow. "I think you did care." She teased him, but was still brutally honest. "Just like you cared enough to follow me!" Her thoughts ran back to her comment about him being a dog...she giggled lightly, but said nothing. "Because of you didn't, we wouldn't be here right now. At least I wouldn't."
Melly paused for a moment. "How about we...do our next job together?" She offered, unsure of what his response would be. "I'll even carry Biff around for you if you want!" That part was meant to be a total farce. In no way did she plan on even touching the creature. "My..erm, friend...left me a ship...a freighter a long time ago. It doesnt run, but I can easily get it repaired now." It was true, she had the credits for it. "That is, if you're interested in crossing Sith space."

Jaggary's eyes narrowed as he thought. Normally he wouldn't care, but he couldn't resist helping a damsel in distress. Certainly there was no way he was telling Melly that though. "I s'ppose I'm in a good mood." He shrugged again, petting Biff gently. The aqua turquoise scales seemed to clash with his brown fur, and for once in a long time Jaggary began to wonder why they had stuck together for so long. He smiled as Biff started purring.
He blinked for a moment, continuing to look at the lizard. He pondered. Melly didn't seem so bad, after all, he didn't have to kill her.... at the moment. Still though, she was curious and spoke her mind freely. He hesitated, scratching the side of his jaw.
"Perhaps. It depends on how much I'm getting paid." He gave her a small glance, then looked back at Biff. Jaggary honestly cared less for which side of the war was winning. War meant he was getting a better income, more jobs that need done. "I suppose what the task is as well."
And the mention of carrying Biff he burst out laughing. "Biff can handle his own, and you'll be surprised at his strength. He likes to jump off of my shoulder and with six legs it can be quite the kick off." His laughter calmed into a chuckle. "He likes my shoulder, or the brim of my hat if I'll let him. If you want to pet him that bad you could just ask..."

"No thanks, I don't want to touch your lizard.." She replied reluctantly. "As for what the task is, I have yet to find out myself. Along with everything else." She would have to find out soon, though. And couldn't do that with him around.
"There is one condition though. Once you say yes, there's no backing out." That was Mellys one and only rule when it came to partners. If they had her back, then she had theirs. One slip up and she would most likely turn on them. An example of that had already been prooven. She already knew the spiders weakness. Biff. As long as the lizard followed him everythere, she had something to use against him. He wouldn't risk harming his friend. That much she knew.
"...and depending on how well you do your part, I'll let you have half." She responded.

Jaggary chuckled at her refusal. Secretly the spider knew that Biff wouldn't stand on her shoulder, atleast for very long. If he did, he was investigating something. The little lizard had multiple occasions when he had gotten himself in trouble by leaving the safety of the shoulder. He scratched the scales behind the lizards ears. Signing up for something before she even knew what it was? That wasn't always the best idea, and Jaggary wasn't sure if he wanted to get involved or not. He frowned.
Jaggary froze, his eyes narrowing and the legs on his back twitching slightly. Back out after agreeing to the task? He had done that extremely few times, and that was a live or die situation. "I may be a spider, but I'm not inhuman." He glared at Melly. "It may be hard to believe, I know, but this walking monster does have values. I keep my word, there's no doubt about that."

"Calm down, I never said you didn't." She raised her hands defensively. "I just wanted to make sure you knew, that's all. Keeps us both from getting screwed over." Melly stood up and casually dusted herself off. She didn't particularly need him, if he refused it was no loss. But it did make things a whole lot easier. She would assume that he was fully on board for now. "Once we land, I'll give you the rest of the details. Until then..." Her voice trailed off. Her eyes glanced down at her bag as she made a move towards him. "Could you do something for me...?"
(Heads up, she's going to try and knock him out.)

((OOC: ooohhh!!! Interesting.))
Jaggary's eyes narrowed. He was beginning to dig himself a hole, he knew it. He was getting himself involved in something he wasn't too sure he wanted to be; but for some odd reason he had been convinced. He wasn't very fond of it, he had to keep a closer eye on this one. Which wasn't to particularily hard if you have four eyes.
The legs on his back gripped onto the floor as she stood, ready to move if necessary. While the chair restricted their movement in certain directions, he was still easily able to reach his head and upper body fairly easily. He watched her stand, semi suspiciously.
"Do something for you, that's asking quite a bit. I figured you were the kind of person that liked to deal with things yourself.."
Biff didn't like the way his master was continuously thinking. He looked as if he were suspicious, and defeinitely deep in thought, perhaps even troubled. The little lizard stopped purring, and blinked up at him before looking over at Melly. He stayed curled up in his lap, his head laying down, but his tail flicked back and forth. He was watching.

"Oh I am. Which is why I need you to go to sleep." She yanked a square object from the bag and held it firmly in her grasp. She'd have to be quick. Unsure of whether or not the poison would even work on the spider, she decided to give it a shot anyways. So to speak. The only problem was that he was most likely 100% going to resist.
"Sorry about this. It's only for a little while." Melly held out a palm and used the force to push Jaggary against his seat. It wa meant to confuse him just long enough for her to get close.
She leapt torwards him and attempted to force the syringe into his neck. If it hit, it would most likely sting for a moment before kicking in. It wasn't deadly; but he would be knocked out for awhile. The only reason Melly was doing this was so she could get in contact with someone...without him knowing. Biff, however, would pose a problem. If the creature decided to attack she would be forced to restrain him as well. "I'm not betraying you.." She managed to say to Jaggary. "There are some things you just can't know..."

((OOC: Ohmygod ;D I'm just so curious to see what you're up to I'll make Jags play along... normally he'd tear people apart, but let's just see what happens. )) Jaggary felt the pressure to his chest as he was thrusted agaisnt his chair. Immediately he sprang into action. So much for friends. He sat up to the best of his ability, his back legs scrambling in surprise. sHe was quick. The claws screeched against the metal floors, digging in to find a grip before launching a counter attack. She was close, and that syringe did not look ideal at all. His exoskeleton was tough, but in the right places that needle would go through; that was one thing Jaggary was certain of. With an agry hissing sound, Jaggary stretched as far away as possible from the needle. He was strong enough to fight back, that was for sure. But how long until she tried again? He had to be cautious. One thing was for certain, he had certainly dug him a hole. The question was if to play along or not. No telling what she could do, or would do. Either was he was in a pickle. The spider legs from his back snapped around, the seven fingers trying to grab onto Melly and drag her off. But the spider made no move to hurt her, only to give her a fair warning... maybe add a few scratches for good measure. "Curious. I was told that secrecy can make people do stupid things. So secrecy could lead to betrayal." His eyes focused on her face, then narrowed suspiciously. He didn't like this at all, but his position gave him no choice. For once in his life, Jaggary had to relax and have faith in the human race; faith that Melly would destroy him or his ship. Biff whined in fright and took off. Jaggary could handle this in his own way, but the little lizard could help him out in another way. The syringe meant bad news, but something hidden behidn the scenes aswell. Biff tore across the floor with a yelp and tore itnoa backroom. That's where he found the recorder. Clever thing.

Melly had to practically climb onto Jaggery to even get to him at this point. She still aimed for his neck..surely that would be the easiest place to inject the poison. She clung to him, wincing as he clawed at her. He was not happy, she knew, but it had to be done. At least in her mind it did.
"Secrecy is the only way to stay alive, at this point." She huffed at him, her arm making a move to knock the hat off his head. If he wasn't stuck in the chair, then it wouldn't have been possible to do this. It was now or never. She made one last attempt to knock him out...
Biff was the one thing she would have to worry about. She had yet to notice that he had taken off and therefor had forgotten. As soon as things calmed down, Melly would attempt to find the creature...although she would assume he would be curled up hiding somewhere. It was easy to underestimate him.
((Sorry it took me a bit to reply...I got caught in some drama and yeah...BUT I'm glad to see that you like where this is going. ;D))

Jaggary hissed, maintaining the fight for the time being. Stupid chair! He dodged the swipe to his hat. "Not the HAT!" He muttered. That was his favourite weapon. Geez! People have no respect for hats these days- oh...
He caught sight of the needle stuck into the side of his neck. Fabulous. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He thrashed spazticly, trying to shake it out and failed. His back legs were already beginning to slip off Melly and tumble about uselessly. First thought that came to the spider's mind was how tough the needle was to penetrate the exoskeleton, second thought was whent he last time he went to bed was.
He looked around as his limbs began to flail and loosen miserably. He was beginning to loose control of how 'awake' they were, and they basicly gave up and fell asleep. He focused on Melly's face angrily as long as he could, before his eyes too, fell asleep. He went slack, hed bobbing forward with one last hiss.

Melly released the spider and let herself fall off of him. She landed to the metal floor with a quiet 'thud'. "OOF! Ugh...that was harder than I thought it would be..." She rubbed her arms lightly. They'd been cut, and blood had already began to seep through the dark brown of her hood. She'd have to ignore it for now.
The girl pushed herself to her feet and looked at Jaggary. She approached him, slowly, unsure if he was actually out of it or not. She poked him in the side of the face, then proceeded to shake him. When there was no response she turned away. Jaggary was out cold. Perfect.
Her arm raised her wrist in front of her face, while the other hand typed in a code. Within minutes a hologram appeared. Obviously, the beeping noise was coming from a communication device. It showed an holographic figure of a male in a dark robe.

Jaggary couldn't feel anything, or hear anything. It was like floating in a black void! Nighty-night!
Biff saw his master slip unconscious and stop moving. He gave a small whimper then shook his head. Time to snap back into reality. He turned on a little recorder he held in his mouth and slid forward. Six legs was incredible when it came to silent grace. Not even making a sound on the smooth floor, he sluck forward, keeping to the shadows all the while keeping the recorder in his mouth.
He worked his way over to Jaggary and hid under the control pannel by his feet. The lizard gripped onto his boot and pulled himself in. There wasn't much space, but he was to see what was happening. Let's just hope the recording device was working.

Post by Count Dooku on Mar 7, 2012 8:22:18 GMT -5
Count Dooku had appeared on the hologram. He was facing away from Jaggary and Biff, but he knew the male was there. He looked aggravated, as always. "You are not alone? I'm surprised that you were able to take him down so easily. Well done." He paused to await a response, then continued. "You did not answer the contact. I have no time for your childish games. Get rid of the bounty hunter, I have no use for him." He paused once again. "Take the ship and come to me. You are to be my Jedi escort into the temple. I shall be in disguise as well, of course. We will discuss further plans later."
The message had been sent. Count Dooku's hologram vanished. Back in his room, he paced towards the large window and stared up at it thoughtfully. A smirk ran across his face. He had big plans in mind. Big.
