Captain Richard couldn't help but feel relieved as the parents left. It made things a little easier on his nerves. Besides, he might have chewed them out then and there. He bit his lip and closed his eyes for a few moments to could her heart beat.
He opened them again and studied Kaitlin's face. Thirteen. So she was technically older thne him... by a year. Best be keeping that to himself. "I want you to take my hand and squeeze it when it hurts. The harder you squeeze, the more painful okay?" He handed her his hand, not even noticing that he had offered the one with the missing finger.
He made sure she understood, and decided it was best to tell a story. She seemed a little uneasy maybe? "The first time I met your father was when he came to me a dislocated shoulder. I was going to use a droid to put it back because dislocations arn't 'life threatening', in fact their rather simply. Regarldess, as the droid approached he leapt up and punched his hand right through the sensor at the front. Not only did I have a dislocated shoulder, but knuckles that needed stitching aswell. He ALWAYS ends up busting his knuckles on droids."
Very slowly and gently, he placed his free hand against her right side and gently applied pressure, moving it carefully across her stomach to feel for anything out of the oridnary and for pain scales. The force didn't bother him, next story would be about the mother...

Chopper was hesitant to leave, his fingers trailing on Kaitlin's as he left. Cleared of the room, he felt comforted by the fact that his daughter was being helped, yet still uneasy about leaving her alone. He hugged Kayla back, wrapping his arms around her middle to keep her close. "Sometimes things like this happen, and I guess all we can do is wait." He rested his head on her shoulder.
"I dunno how he knew. I dunno how he escaped the jail. I don't care. I had thought I was free of him, and yet here he is. I suppose the right question is what are we gonna do?"
His fingers trailed down to hers as he glanced over her knuckles. "How did you get this?! He mused, trying to lighten the mood. "Guess who gets to see Richard next!"

"I could bite you and that could tell you how bad my side is bothering me," Kaitlin growled as she looked at Richard as she grabbed his hand."So you sent a droid to patch up daddy's shoulder, Uncle Richie?" she mused. "---" Kaitlin growled and she squeezed Richard's hand and then she instinctively Force-pushed Richard some and groaned in pain.
Kayla blinked at Chopper and just let him hold her. "I don't know what we are going to do yet," she said as she shook her head. "I don't want to think about that," she added. She glanced at her knuckles. "Punched a crate and threw it at the wall," she grumbled. "My hand will be fine. Righht now I just want you to hold me." She rested her head on his chest and kissed him on the lips softly.

"Yes a droid, big mistake though. Never used another one again." The Captain smiled as he trailed his fingers gently across her left side. Uncle? He couldn't help the shiver that danced up his spine. That was pushing it, but honestly, kids will be kids. Technically yes, he was her uncle. 'I can't do it.' His brain threatened to pull away, but at the child's squeeze, Richard felt torn. She needed him, as much as he know she shouldn't actually exist, she needed him badly.
He squeezed back for comfort.
He staggered slightly, but managed to remain standing upright as she pushed at him. Fair enough. "How do you feel? What's your stomach feel like? Do you feel hungry at all?" He asked, taking his hand off her stomach. Pulling the glove off his hand with his teeth, Richard then brushed the hair away from her face and placed his hand on her forehead. Fever?

Chopper wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling Kayla close. He rested his cheek against her forehead and hugged. Don't let go. That's all that matter. The hug made him feel better, knowing that there was someone else out there; he wasn't alone. "I'll never let go." He whispered softly.
He wasn't pleased about her busting knuckles, but Chopper could hardly blame her. His family was in quite the sticky situation now, and it made a lump form in his throat. He tried to push the thoughts away and focus on what matter now. And what mattered most was in his arms currently.

Kaitlin smiled. "Hee hee...never send a droid to do your work," she said chuckling as she groaned as he ran his hand down her left side and when he did that, she went to shove her finger in her mouth, but instead she ended up biting Richard's finger on accident. "I'm thirsty," she said. "My side hurts when I move too much," she added with a groan. She felt him put her hand on her forehead and raised an eyebrow. Her forehead was burning up with a fever and she grabbed her stuffed racoon that she had ever since she was little and hugged it. "How did you meet mama?" she asked as she looked at Richard and tried to sit up, but ended up flat on her back and groaned some. "I can sense that you're uneasy about this whole situation," she said as she glanced at Richard. "Did I do something wrong?" she asked.
Kayla smiled when Chopper wrapped his arms around her. "Well...you'll have to let go when Kaitlin needs one of us," she said softly as she chuckled. "As for now I don't want to worry too much about anything other than Kaitlin feeling better."
Kayla paused for a moment. "There can be many possible ways that Slick got out of jail and no need for us to worry ourselves about it. Just have to up security a little. I know this puts you at risk and I'm sorry about that." She sighed softly as she as she looked at her hand. "I know stupid mistake on my part," she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes in the process.
(OOC: I figured we can Kaitlin bond with Richard some.)

Captain Richard winced slightly as she chomped down on his finger. However, there were many times where he'd have to use his fist to shove in his patient's mouth to avoid them bitting their tongues off. It was nothing new, but it was unexpected.
"That's right. You can build hundreds of medical droids, but not one will match the abilities of a living creature." The captian couldn't help but smile, she was very similar to Chopper and General Solo.
He thought for a moment, taking his hand off her forehead as he started rummaging through his bag. "The first time I met your mother.... I believe it was when she broke a few ribs during battle. Chopper brought her into the medbay, and I was the one on duty. I had to screw a plate to her ribs to keep them still." He chuckled at the memory. See, Richard wasn't one for holding anything back, if he was going to tell a story, he be straight up blunt. Same with wounds as well, straight up 'whats wrong'.
He hesitated, then smiled softly. She was only a kid, this wasn't all her fault. "I just have a lot on your mind. You did nothing wrong. You and have both had a really long day. But I know how to help you.
It may be your appendix yes, but the good news is I don't think I need to remove it. See, when the appendix swells, you can remove it by surgery, or treat it with antibiotics depending on the severity. I'm going to give you a little pill that you have to swallow, the rest I'll give to your mother. If it gets worse, then I'll come back and remove it. I don't think that'll happen. But it's difficult to say."
He leaned forward a little and raised an eyebrow, an oval shaped pill in one hand and a bottle of water in the other. "You'll feel a little sleepy once you take it, so I recommend taking it before bed. You think you can do that?"

Chopper smiled faintly. "She's with Captain Richard at the moment, she should be alright for the time being. When she needs us, we'll both be there. She knows that."
Was she outta her mind? Her putting him at risk? It was Chopper's brother that was the mess. If Chopper had never allowed Kayla to stay onboard ship that first time, Slick wouldn't even be after them. She wouldn't be a General, and Kaitling wouldn't have existed. Was it his fault?! The thought made his chest tighten with grief. He sighed as he continued to hug her close. However, deep down inside he knew he was happy and despite Slick's threat he was still very lucky and happy. There was no time for grief.

Kaitlin listened as Richard told how he met her mother. She snickered some as she groaned. nodded as she groaned in pain. "Give it to me now," she said as she took it from him and popped it into her mouth and then she took the water and swallowed the pill with the water until she felt a sharp pain and sat up lightning rod straight and yelped in pain and started to cry.
No sooner had Katilin yelped, Kayla ran back up to her room and wrapped her arms around Kaitlin carrying an ice pack to help reduce Kaitlin's fever. "It's all right," she said as she held Kaitlin close as Kaitlin started to cry.
"I want those appendix out," Kaitlin said as she hugged Kayla.
"But you have to take the antibiotic to help get rid of your fever," Kayla said.
"I did and it still hurts," Kaitlin snapped as she hissed in pain.
"It takes a litte while for the medicine to kick in, sweetie," Kayla said as she put the ice pack on Kaitlin's side.
"...Cold," Kaitlin said as she winced. It felt nice to have something cool against her hot skin, but when she felt another sharp pain again, Kaitlin threw throthe ice pack across the room and she ended up Force-pushing Kayla away and she climbed out of bed and bolted out of the room with her racoon. She went to the roof again and she curled up in the hammock again.
Kayla groaned as she got up. "So suggestions?" she asked, looking at Richard. She poked her head out of the room. "Chopper, your daughter ran to the roof again mind tending to her?" she asked.
***On the Roof*** Kaitlin whimpered slightly as she curled up in a ball with her racoon and went to sleep. She was mad that no one was listening to her or trying to make her feel better.

Captain Richard just watched. He was pleased that she had taken the pill, but all that quick movement was bound to do worse. He winced slightly, and watched her bolt. He didn't reach out to stop her. He didn't say anything.
Once the child was out of the room and gone, he turned to face Kayla. "What have you done?" His eyes narrowed. He wasn't reffering to the comfort of trying to ease the child's pain, but in regards to this madness as a whole.
"What exactly happened today... General?"

Chopper was in the door frame as he heard his daughter cry out in pain. He watched closely as Richard sat by and did nothing to stop her. "Kaitlin!" He lashed out his hand to stop her, and watched in disbelief as she slid through his fingers. Damn.
He tore through the house after her, calling out her name. He bolted to the roof, and gingerly stepped closer. "Hey hey hey," He said softly, coming closer and sitting down. He noticed that she was sleeping, and gently rubbed her back. "Try to relax, we're doing all we can."

(OOC: Oh great. Blame the mother for everything eh Richie? This is gonna be fun. Hey at least Kaitlin doesn't go to the cargo hold like Kayla does when she gets mad.)
Kayla stared at Richard as she crossed her arms across her chest. "What the hell do you mean what have I done?" she asked with a huff. "I haven't done anything." She sighed as she watched Chopper go after Kaitlin. Did Richard blame Kayla for this whole thing?
"I know that you don't agree with our situation of being a family, and I can't really help that we followed our hearts," she said sighing. "I don't want to be lectured about it nor do I want Kaitlin thinking that she doesn't belong here. I love her AND Chopper and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world." She paused for a moment to think how to explain what happened today.
"Kaitlin and I were waiting for Chopper to come home and when he got here Kaitlin wanted to go shoot some droids and then when Chopper went to check on Kaitlin, Slick and a sniper droid showed up and hell broke loose," she explained. "Slick put an electro collar on Kaitlin's leg and shocked her everytime we tried to get close to him or tried to rattle info out of him. I don't know why Slick wanted to kidnap Kaitlin or how he found out where we lived and whatnot." She glanced up at Richard. "Now what about my kid?" she asked with her hands on her hips. "I know you gave her medicine. What do you recommend?"
***On The Roof*** Kaitlin heard her father call out to her and she ignored Chopper. She sensed Chopper's presence and she felt him rubbing her back and she heard him try comforting her. She opened her eyes and climbed into his lap, rested her head against his chest, and wrapped her arms around him and hugged him. "I know," she said as she hugged her stuffed animal. "I know that Richard feels uncomfortable about what is going on. I know he thinks I shouldn't exist," she said as she blinked back tears from her eyes as she glanced at Chopper.

Captain Richard finished packing his gear into his pack and stood up, his helmet and gear neatly piled by the side of the bed. His eyes narrowed slightly. He wasn't designed to go up against generals, he was supposed to follow their orders without a second hesitation. Yet still, what needed to be said needed to be done despite how akward it was. "You know exactly what I mean. That's exactly the thing though isn't it, hearts. The organ that pumps blood through the body to keep it alive, the muscle that never tires. Yes, blame it." The captain's gaze was hard and icey as he leveled her gaze.
He held up the bottle of pills, never looking away. "This is a bottle of anti-biotics. They're more and more difficult to find nowadays, but I figured you could handle it. One a day with plenty of liquids. They tend to dehydrate the body. She needs to take them all. That's is the key. It takes several days for these to start working, several days to solve the problem, and naturally several days to finish up the job. There's enough in here for seven days. She NEEDS to take them all. She'll start feeling better probably tomorrow evening.
If the pain is still there after four days, I'll need to re-evaluate her progress. I can guarentee I'll be back before then to check up on her."
He was about to hand over the bottle, but he hesitated and drew back. "I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing it for her."
He handed over the bottle, and his face relaxed significantly; almost softened and appologgetic. "I'd like to talk with you and Chopper."

Chopper hugged her close, being careful to not inflict any pain upon his daughter. He pulled back and wiped away a tear with his thumb. "Captain Richard tends to do as he likes, and is usually not this strict on protocol. I think he's worried for you. Your mother is extremely important in the war, and it makes you a target. You're the same age as he is, and I think he's doing his best to look out for you in a way your mom and I can't."
That much was true. Chopper honestly felt that Richard pittied her and what kind of hell she could go through in the future. He hugged his daughter close. "He's also probably jelous that I have something he will never have."

"So what if I know what you mean," Kayla snapped as she glared at Richard. "I can't help you don't agree with what we have." Kayla crossed her arms across her chest.
"I know you're not doing it for me and I know that," Kayla said as she narrowed her eyes at him. She listened to him about giving Kaitlin the antibiotic and whatnot. "And what would you like to talk to us about?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at Richard.
Kaitlin smiled at Chopper as she hugged him and sighed. "I hate this stupid war," she said as she sighed. "Why would he be jealous of what you got?" she asked as she groaned. "I don't understand adults one bit," she said softly as she yawned and groaned in pain from her side. "All I want is to feel better again so I can blast some droids," she said as she kissed Chpper on the cheek when he wiped her tears away. "I love you, daddy," she said as she smiled. "I love you so much."
